Editorial & sponsorship policy

Last updated 30 October 2026

Readers should always know when a feature has been paid for. This page explains how Icon Magazine handles sponsored profiles and what we will and will not publish.

Sponsored profiles

Features carry an editorial fee of US$100, which covers the interview, writing and editing. Every paid feature is labelled Sponsored profile on its page and wherever it is listed. The fee pays for the work of producing the profile; it does not buy rankings, awards or claims that we have not checked.

Accuracy

Sponsored features are based on an interview with the subject, conducted by text. We send each subject the draft to confirm the facts about them and their company before publication. Profiles from public reporting are not interviews and are not reviewed by their subjects; they are checked against the sources they list (see below). We do not publish claims we believe to be false or misleading, and we may decline or remove a feature that would mislead readers.

Profiles from public reporting

Alongside interviews, we publish profiles of notable founders and leaders compiled from public sources such as encyclopaedia entries and company information. The person was not interviewed for them, and each lists its sources. They cover professional life only, contain no invented quotes, and are checked against the listed sources. Photos are used only under free licences and credited. If you are the subject of one and want it corrected or removed, contact us and we will act promptly.

Tools we use

We may use software, including AI tools, to help prepare drafts. Sponsored features are edited by a person and checked by their subject before they are published. Profiles from public reporting are checked against their listed sources, and anyone profiled can ask us to correct or remove theirs.

Corrections

If you find an error in a profile, tell us and we will correct it and note the correction on the page.
