About Icon Magazine

Icon Magazine publishes profiles of founders and leaders who are building something of their own. We are interested in the person behind the work: the path that led them here, the decisions that shaped it, and what they have learned along the way.

What we publish

We publish two kinds of profile. Interviews are always labelled as sponsored; every other profile is compiled from public reporting.

• Interviews. Founders and leaders apply to be featured. We interview them by text, edit the conversation into a profile, and send them the draft to check the facts before it is published. These features carry an editorial fee and are labelled as sponsored.
• Profiles from public reporting. Profiles of notable founders compiled from public sources such as Wikipedia and Wikidata, checked against those sources.They list every source, and the person has not been interviewed by us. Anyone profiled can request a correction or removal.

Profiles are organised into sections by industry.

How we are funded

Features carry an editorial fee of US$100. Every paid feature is clearly labelled as a sponsored profile. Read our editorial and sponsorship policy for how we keep that clear for readers.
